I Was Attacked by Amaechi’s Aides in a Convoy- Governor Wike

The Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike has claimed that he was attacked by the convoy of Rotimi Amaechi. He called it an assassination attempt by the Minister of Transportation. The People's Democratic Party (PDP) has condemned in strong terms the confrontations that arose when the convoy of the Minister of Transportation and that of the Governor of the state collided with each other. The attack on the Governor’s convoy is a clear attempt by the All Progressives Congress (APC) to cause chaos within the state, PDP alleges.

In Port-Harcourt on Saturday, November 11, 2017; Reports shows there was truly a clash between the convoy of the Governor and that of the minister of transportation, Rotimi Chibuike Amaechi.

Chinwe Nnorom of the peoples’ Democratic Party issued a statement on behalf of Dayo Adeyeye, its spokesman, as he described Saturday’s incident as an invitation to anarchy.
In his statement, the party used the medium to draw the attention of Mr. president to the assassination attempt by one of his ministers; the minister of Transport, Rt. Hon. Rotimi Amaechi on the Governor of Rivers State, Chief Nyesom Wike yesterday being Saturday, November 11, 2017, in Port Harcourt, Rivers State and also on President Buhari to order the immediate transfer of Mr. Fakorede of SARS out of Rivers State and that any delay from the end of the president towards this matter  would show that he  is fully in charge of these ugly activities in the State.

Wike and PDP claimed that the governor’s convoy was ambushed by the commander of Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS), led by Mr. Akin Fakorede and Amaechi’s ADC, Mr. Debewari. This is yet to be verified, though the general public is very much aware of the tussle of power between Governor Nyesom Wike and Rotimi Amaechi and how Wike is always accusing Amaechi of causing a breach of peace in the State. This claim cannot be verified also because most of the governor’s accusation against the Minister has proved not to be true, e.g. the Ikoyi Gate where the Governor claimed that the seized $43.45 million dollars were Rivers State money that Amaechi used to sponsor President Buhari’s 2015 election.
